MY - Data Engineer

About the role
We are looking for a Data Engineer who is passionate about building robust and scalable data products. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining our data architecture. You will collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, product managers, and marketing managers to support the continued growth of StashAway.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain StashAway’s infrastructure for streaming, processing, and storage of data.
  • Build tools for effective maintenance and monitoring of the data infrastructure.
  • Contribute to key data pipeline architecture decisions and lead the implementation of major initiatives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to develop scalable and performant solutions for their data requirements, including extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources.
  • Develop the team's data capabilities - share knowledge, enforce best practices, and encourage data-driven decisions.
  • Ensure data quality through continuous improvement and monitoring.
Requirements
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a technical field
  • Self-starter, curious and motivated learner
  • Outstanding quantitative and problem-solving abilities
  • SQL and relational databases experience
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g. Cassandra, MongoDB)
  • Experience with big data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop, Spark)
  • Experience in object-oriented programming and/or functional programming is a plus
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills with strong business intuition, able to understand complex business issues
  • Strong sense of ownership
  • Fresh graduates are welcome (if able to display interest, co-curricular activities, external projects, can write code well)
