SG - Copywriter

Do you edit in your head every ad you come across because you already know how to make it better? Do you love coming up with catchy phrases as much as you love the feeling of nailing the right wording to explain something tricky? If you like seeing your team’s work on train stations, in emails, and on social media, and you want to never be bored with the range of type of writing you’ll be doing, you might be just the person we’re looking for.

The next copywriter to join our marketing communications team will be working on all types of marketing writing, from social media, to online ad copy, offline branding campaigns, app store optimisation, event promotions, and more. 

This is a regional role that also works on local campaigns and strategies for all of our markets: Hong Kong, Malaysia, MENA, Singapore, and Thailand. This is also a cross-functional role: you’ll report into the Group Marketing Communications Manager, and work closely with the marketing design team, online marketing team, content team, and product team to deliver a wide range of effective, on-brand messaging.

  • Write copy for OOH ads (radio, print)
  • Write descriptions and titles for our podcast, videos, and other media

  • Digital marketing creatives alongside our in-house designers and analysts
  • ASO

Who you are:

  • You’re a top-tier writer and editor who can write 33-character SEM ads, social media posts that go viral, and everything in between
  • You have 3-5 years of experience in a copywriting role, or similar marketing, journalist, or creative role (can be in-house or agency)
  • No writing or editing task is too big or small for you-- you understand that every word and punctuation mark matters. You embrace the oxford comma, and can remove nominalisations and the passive voice in your sleep
  • You’re super organised, always looking for ways to do things better and more efficiently
  • You’re comfortable trying new formats and channels
  • You’re hungry to learn and push yourself to do more
  • You have the aptitude and willingness to master technical financial and economic concepts so that you can distill them simply. (Note that no previous knowledge on these topics is necessary, but you’ll be expected to learn them quickly once you join.)
  • You perform well under deadlines
  • You have excellent communication skills, and are a natural storyteller
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Fluency and mastery in English is a must, and fluency in Cantonese or Thai is a plus
